JOB SUMMARY

The Maintenance Mechanic works under the supervision of the Engineering Manager/Supervisor, to perform general maintenance duties. Assists other trades in completing maintenance and repair tasks.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Performs scheduled (PM) Maintenance on assigned equipment.
  • Performs unscheduled/corrective maintenance on the building, equipment and hospital work orders as assigned.
  • Troubleshoots problems accurately and takes initiative to repair, research and resolve problems.
  • Instructs fellow trades persons in application of specialized troubleshooting and repair techniques as directed.
  • Submits purchase requisitions to maintain adequate repair parts and supplies.
  • Performs snow removal tasks.
  • Make security rounds to check spaces and secure building.
  • Makes equipment rounds to check equipment assigned for operation and safety.
  • Stand duties as a Shift Engineer as per shift schedule.
  • Complies with the hospital's Corporate Compliance Program including, but not limited to, the Code of Conduct, laws and regulations, and hospital policies and procedures.
  • Must be free from governmental sanctions involving health care and/or financial practices.
  • Other duties as assigned. This list is non-exhaustive.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

  • Education
    • Must be a high school graduate or equivalent.
  • Licensure
    • None
  • Experience
    • Minimum of three years of similar work experience.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • The ability to maintain continuing education requirements and all certifications and licenses as required
  • Demonstrates professionalism and courteous etiquette.
  • Demonstrates flexibility, positive interpersonal relations in fast paced work environment.
  • Ability to calibrate equipment.
  • Ability to work on and operate mechanical equipment.
  • Must be able to communicate with interior/exterior customers.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and problem solve.
  • Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and computer systems.
  • Ability to design and create layouts.
  • Able to read/understand blueprints.
